Accumulator Safety Shut-off Valve

The Hunt Accumulator Safety Shut-Off Valve is similar in design to the Hunt Mega-Flo “B” Descale Valve. We have retained the heavy duty body castings, the large 12” air cylinder for smooth and positive valve shifting, and the patented internal hydraulic balance chamber to balance hydraulic pressure loads and make valve shifting controlled, smooth and simple.

The sliding plunger is replaced with a poppet style design. This is required to permit high pressure water flow in both directions through the valve without damage to the seals.

Normal cycling is minimal in this application.

The Hunt Accumulator Safety Shut-Off Valves are available in 4”, 6”, and 8” sizes. Vertical installation is suggested to permit overhead access for preventative maintenance on the valve.

The Accumulator Safety Shut-Off Valve poppet works as a check valve permitting higher pump pressure fluid to enter the accumulator and prevents fluid/air from discharging from the accumulator with the double solenoid air valve de-energized or energized closed. Once the fluid level is above the accumulator low level, the air pilot valve and air cylinder open the check poppet permitting the fluid to freely enter or discharge the accumulator as required.
