Manufacturing Technology

Experience and a proven record of manufacturing critical components which require extremely tight tolerances, specialty welding, cladding, nondestructive testing and hydrostatic testing are the key strengths of our Manufacturing Engineering team.

Hunt Engineering's skilled machinists combined with utilization of a state of the art Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system affords Hunt the ability to be an industry leading custom order manufacturer.

Hunt Engineering's ERP system provides optimization of raw material procurement, inventory control, machine utilization, cost accounting and delivery performance.

Material Control/Traceability

Hunt Engineering utilizes a segregated controlled Storage Area for both finished components and raw materials. The raw Material and finished component storage areas are secured with restricted access. Raw Material and Finished Machined Components are segregated into three different areas depending on their required level of traceability (Level 1, Military Level 1 and Industrial) to ensure no comingling of raw materials or finished parts exists.

Materials Engineering

Hunt Engineering's 90 plus years of manufacturing valves for critical service applications provides the accumulated experience and knowledge of the optimum materials to suit each application environment. In addition to our years of experience, Hunt Engineering has incorporated Finite Element Analysis capabilities to analyze stresses, fatigue and fluid flow.

Welding

Hunt's welding Engineers incorporate years of experience in developing and qualifying weld, cladding and hardfacing procedures for materials which are difficult to weld.

Hunt Weld Procedures are developed and qualified I.A.W. NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 AND S9074-AR-GIB-010/278.

Hunt Engineering's welding team members are true artisans, possessing the ability to successfully apply their skill in accordance with qualified procedures.

Nondestructive Testing

Hunt Engineering Implements training and certification of its engineering staff to the requirements of ASNT-SNT-TC-1A and as modified by NAVSEA Technical Publication T9074-AS-GIB-0108271

Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant and Visual Inspections are performed in house by Hunt Engineers and Technicians. Qualified Labs are used to perform "RT" and "UT" inspections.

Assembly and Testing

Hunt Engineering utilizes strict controls and assembly procedures to ensure that each engineered solution meets all contract and drawing requirements such as torque requirements, lubrication certifications and heat trace code markings.

Hunt Engineering implements custom designed 10,000 psi hydraulic and 10,000 psi nitrogen test units to perform hydrostatic pressure testing. Each test unit is routinely calibrated to ensure accuracy and repeatability of test pressures
