Company Plans to Accelerate Growth in Core Military and Industrial Markets
Hunt Valve, a fluid power engineering company specializing in severe duty valves and components, was acquired by May River Capital. May River plans to invest in the company to build a platform that will accelerate the company’s profitable growth.
Brad Sterner, Hunt Valve’s new president and CEO, said that the company’s history of supplying severe-duty valves to the metals industry and U.S. Navy provides a solid foundation to expand in Hunt’s core markets, as well as new sectors that include energy, transportation, process and oil & gas. The company currently enjoys a very stable and profitable business with industrial blue chip customers, along with naval boat contractors Electric Boat and Huntington Ingalls Industries, and the U. S. Navy.
“To maintain a dominant position in its highly competitive industrial and military markets, Hunt Valve made significant investments during the past few years in production equipment as well as advanced Non-Destructive Testing capabilities. We have the capacity we need here in Northeast Ohio to support our aggressive expansion plans,” said Sterner.
“We look forward to profitably growing Hunt to strengthen our presence in the Salem, Ohio, community and continue to build upon our reputation as a reliable, responsible corporate citizen,” he said.
“Hunt Valve has a long history here, and we’re gratified to see its new owners recognize the strength of our community and have committed to invest in an expansion of their product line which will create additional good paying jobs,” said Salem Mayor John Berlin. “Our manufacturing employers are very important to the present and future health of Salem’s economy and Hunt’s new owners will showcase what we do well here in Northeast Ohio. Hunt Valve is the type of employer that helps support a strong quality of life in Salem.”
